Huawei partners with Mondia Pay to expand digital payments

Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) has inked a partnership with Mondia Pay a digital payment provider, that is set to provide Ooredoo Algeria and Orange Tunisia users with safe and convenient payment options. Huawei device users can now pay for their monthly services, latest games and favorite applications seamlessly on HUAWEI AppGallery using Direct Carrier Billing services (DCB).

We told you: Direct Carrier Billing is a mobile payment method that lets you make purchases while the charges incurred go to your mobile phone bill. You can buy digital products from third-party vendors without having to use a bank card. To make carrier billing transactions, you only need a mobile device and a SIM card.

With over 2.1 billion global monthly transactions, Mondia Pay aims to provide users in North Africa with secure, convenient and contactless payment options. This integration is a result of a strategic partnership that was formalised in September 2020 and has since witnessed an increase of DCB coverage and IAP (In-App Purchase) kit capabilities for global developers.

Huawei recently announced something similar in Kenya with the integration of Safaricom’s M-Pesa as a payment option on its AppGallery. This basically implies that you can now make purchases of apps, games, themes, and more from the App Store with M-Pesa.
