Dickson Mushabe, the chief executive officer of Hostalite, has been recognized by the CEO Global’s Titans: Building Nations, 2018 Awards for his contribution to the ICT sector at the continental level.
The Awards ceremony was held on November 27 at Apollo Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The achievement comes a few weeks after the Hostalite CEO was rewarded by the same Awards at country and regional (Great Lakes) level at an event held at Protea Hotel in Kampala.
On that night, 15 Ugandans were rewarded. Some of the notable Ugandans that were honored are Jennifer Musisi, KCCA executive director; Prof. William Bazeyo, the acting deputy Vice Chancellor of Makerere University; Pauline Korukundo from Kiira Motors Corporation; Amos Wekesa, the founder of Great Lake Safari; and the comedian Pablo Kimuli.
Mushabe, who is also an author, founded Hostalite, a web hosting, design and software development company.
One of the notable products out of Hostalite is Cinnamon Clubs, an investment club, that is currently operating in Uganda, Ethiopia and Zambia.

Speaking to SautiTech on winning the prestigious award, Mushabe said: “It’s quite amazing and I feel so much joy that out of the 1.216 billion people in Africa, I emerged continental winner of the CEO Global’s Titans 2018/2019 Awards- ICT Sector.”
He went on: “This speaks into the dream of Hostalite to cover Africa in the next 5 years, after our establishment in Ethiopia and Zambia with Cinnamon, the premier investment group management software. I am so grateful to C.E.O global for this award and to the people who nominated me.”
Makerere University Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance and Administration, Prof. William Bazeyo also emerged Continental Winner in the Education and Training – Academic category of CEO Global’s Titans: Building Nations, 2018 Awards.
The Award was presented to Prof. Bazeyo by the Chief Executive of CEO Global, Annelize Wepener.
CEO Global hosted Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government and Titans Building Nations Awards on the 26th and 27th November 2018.
The Awards recognised Regional and Continental finalists and winners. Fifty seven (57) countries participated in this year’s awards in 23 categories which included Education and Training, Media, Health, Tourism and Banking among others.
The African continent was divided into 8 regions, each with a winner in the respective categories.
The Continental Winner was then drawn from the eight regional winners in each category.
