Following the end of the 2-month promotion in which SafeBoda would give a 50% discount on all rides, and another 20% for those paying via the credit option, SafeBoda has introduced another one.
In this campaign dubbed Xtra Wednesdays, a customer is given a bonus of 25% of the money he tops up on credit to ride with a SafeBoda.
As an example, when you load Shs20,000, your account will show that you’ve topped up Shs25000. Shs20,000 is the minimum amount you should top up to subscribe the offer.
The offer is only available on Wednesday.
The promotion will run four for weeks, and, according to Eunice Among, the head of Customer, SafeBoda, only two weeks are remaining for the promotion to end.
Among says the drive is aimed at attracting more people to the credit payment system.

The system is preferred by most ride-hailing companies since drivers can’t default payments to the company, customers won’t disturb rides with change, and the companies are safe from passengers who may want to refuse to pay riders and drivers.
On top of multiplying the amount topped up, SafeBoda also offers another 25% discount on every ride you take and pay with credit.
Cash passengers are no longer benefiting from such promotions. However, the fares are relatively cheaper than the normal boda boda rides.
Other ride-hailing companies also offer different commissions to customers and you can read about them here.
Generally, however, all the companies have increased the transport charges.
