MTN Group set to unveil new corporate identity

2022 could be coming with some huge changes! MTN Group could be one of those with significant changes; as it is readying a huge overhaul of its brand identity. Apparently, changes taking place outside its Johannesburg head office reveal the new direction that the company is taking.

The telecommunications group’s iconic signage has been replaced with a new corporate identity and logo that shows off a simpler design.

No more “Everywhere you go” tagline

The word “Y’ello” is likely to be emphasized as the new tagline below the MTN logo. The MTN Group is likely going to de-emphasize the “Everywhere you go” tagline that it has used for many years. With most of the preparations in the final phase, the new brand will be rolled out from 27 February, which will coincide with a marketing campaign.

Every bit of the new-look branding forms part of the group’s “Ambition 2025” strategy, which is aimed at creating “leading digital platforms for Africa’s progress”. The new-look is “aligned to our evolution from a telecommunications company to a technology company underpinned by one simple and consistent yet striking brand”.

MTN Group is committed and focused to accelerate Africa’s progress; with its South African unit planning to hire 150 “digital experts” to meet what it calls “growing demand” for digital services.

We shall update you with more details as the rebrand takes shape across the African markets in which the MTN Group operates.
