MTN Uganda has unveiled a new set of voice call bundles. The package, dubbed #MTNSupu, is a set of minute bundles that once can purchase to call friends on other networks. But there’s a catch!
The industry had got us so used to same-network call bundles, such as MTN to MTN or Airtel to Airtel, but now MTN seeks to tap deeper into the market with these new bundles.

MTN Uganda already had a set of existing MyPakaPaka voice bundles where one can dial *160*1# to enjoy making calls and sending SMS messages to fellow MTN customers at a discount. Here, 60 minutes and 60 SMS cost UGX 1,100; 45 minutes and 45 SMS cost UGX 900; while 30 minutes and 30 SMS cost UGX 700.
Also, there are the normal daily bundles that customers find at *160*2#: including 6 minutes at UGX 500, 10 minutes at UGX 700, 20 minutes at UGX 1000, and 60 minutes at UGX 2000. These are the ones that the company is manipulating into all-network voice bundles.
For the same price, you can get extra minutes to talk to colleagues on any other network.
For UGX 500 you get 1 minute extra to call other networks, for 700 you get 2 minutes extra, for 1000 you get 3 minutes extra, while for 2000 you get 5 minutes.
MTN also has monthly packages, whose USSD code activation is *160*22#. For 125 minutes, one has to part with UGX 5,000, UGX 10,000 for 300 minutes and UGX 35,000 for 2,400 minutes. One gets 4,500 minutes when they pay UGX 50,000.
