Taxify targets group travellers as new feature is rolled out

Taxify app

Taxify Uganda unveiled a new feature on its platform to cater for people who like travelling in groups as it moves to expand services.

Dubbed XL, the feature, according to Shivachi Muleji, the Taxify regional manager East Africa — the new feature will allow for an increase in the number of maximum people that can travel in a group.

While previously the standard was at a maximum of four people in a single car, 6 people can now share the same ride.

Speaking to media at Taxify head offices on Friday, Shivachi said that the drivers of the XL category vehicles will be trained and equipped with all the necessary knowledge and items.

The vehicles must be manufactured from 2000 onwards and have a third party insurance sticker covering 6 people. We will maintain the same level of service and driver quality to ensure that our customers feel safe and enjoy their experience while using Taxify,” Shivachi emphasised.

Taxify XL launched at a 10% discount on charges at Shs2,500 for Base Fare, Shs150 per Minute, Shs850 per KM  and Shs6000 Minimum Fare.

The XL feature will help those who want to travel as a group or family without spending a lot of money,” concluded Shivachi.
