The 2021 elections will be held in the first quarter of the year, to be specific, in February.
While you need to be eighteen to vote, there are other things that could prevent you from participating in the general elections.
Electoral Commission (EC) Deputy Chairperson Hajjat Aisha Lubega has revealed that for one to vote in 2021, they have to make sure that they are included in the voters’ register by that time.
“The major, the guiding and the important document that the electoral commission has to carry out an election exercise is the voters’ register,” she said, according to a video posted by NTV Uganda.
To be included in the voters’ register, you have to present your National ID or National Identification Number.
EC has made it easier for Ugandans to verify voter registration and you can do it online instead of visiting local area offices to check on the voter registration sheet.

Officials are currently planning for demarcation of electoral areas and re-organization of polling stations, an activity that will run from Sept.3-14.
