E-Pine Pharmacy, a Uganda-based online retailer for drugs and medical equipment, has been nominated for 2019 StartUpAfrica’s Entrepreneurship Awards.
A statement on the Awards website shows that they “recognize entrepreneurial achievement, contribution, and the demonstration of the true entrepreneurial spirit, and are vital to future economic development and prosperity and ensure that entrepreneurs are encouraged and cultivated.”
E-Pine Pharmacy is a brainchild of Julius Sseninde, a 22-year-old innovator.
In a recent interview with ChimpReports, he said that he launched the company about three months ago and they have over 1500 products on their portal.
He says the startup wants to ease access to medicine and help in cutting costs of buying medicine.
The startups that will reach the finals will attend the StartUpAfrica’s Entrepreneurship Awards dinner that will be held on Oct. 5 at the Fellowship Hall at Canaan Baptist Church, New Castle, DE.
“Outstanding businesses and individual entrepreneurs will be announced during the event,” reads an official statement. “Additionally, the event will recognize outstanding volunteers who give their time and resources to make a difference in our local and international communities.”
Successful startups will be judged basing on the potential to create a business that can expand outside the local area, innovativeness, creation of jobs over time among others.
