Julianne Rwakooko Mweheire is now the Director Industry Affairs and Content Development at the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC). The position fell vacant when the previous occupant Dr. Twinemanzi Tumubweine was appointed early this year as the Executive Director-Supervision at Bank of Uganda (BoU).
Mweheire has almost 2 decades of experience in the telecommunications sector, having joined the industry with MTN Uganda in 2000 as Senior Accountant Interconnection and Roaming.
She occupied that position until she was promoted to Senior Manager, Carrier Relations, MTN Uganda.
According to here profile on the UCC website, she holds a Master of Science Telecommunications Management – Global Innovations of Telecommunications from Stevens’s Institute of Technology, New Jersey, USA.
She pursued the master’s degree after completing a Bachelor of Arts Business Management – in Management, Economics, and Accounting.
UCC says Mweheire has vast experience in the Telecommunications sector in areas of Competition, Consumer Protection, and Economic Regulation among other key areas of policies and regulations.
