National Information Technology Authority (NITA) has expanded the reach of MyUG WiFi and there are now 284 MyUG WiFi hotspots/sites in Kampala, its suburbs and Entebbe, according to Steven Kirenga, the Authority’s spokesman.
MyUG was unveiled in 2016 so that people can have access to free wireless internet and the number of people using the service has grown tremendously to tens of thousands since.
MyUG WiFi can now be accessed when in Kampala City and surrounding areas like Kololo, Namuwongo, Bukoto, Kisasi, Buziga, Kansanga, Bugolobi, Lugogo and Kiwatule.
It’s also available along Entebbe Road in areas like Kigo, Najjanankumbi, Abayita Ababiri, Nkumba, Entebbe Town, Kibuye. On Jinja Road, you can find MyUG WiFi hotspots/sites in Kireka, Nakawa, Namanve, Bweyogerere and so on.
