Whenever you hear of the term Camon, two things come right to the mind: Tecno and Camera! Yes, the Camon series are the phone brand’s flagship when it comes to the best smartphone photography and videography. It would take you a long while to find a really good handset to walk home with – coming with the powerful camera sensors that the Camon phones have. And here comes the Tecno Camon 12.
We’ve had a great line up in these, and each new release comes with something a lot better than what the predecessors had. The Tecno Camon 12 is already an awesome one, and – like we had already told you – this one is the rightful heir to the throne of the camera smartphones.
The Camon 11 was awesome, I personally loved it, but the Camon 12 has proven to be somewhat a better idea. And kudos to Tecno for investing big on this.
Unboxing the Tecno Camon 12
The Tecno Camon 12 comes in a brightly coloured wrapping, and before you even open it, you are sure to have the very best of it. Much of the ingredients needed in a modern smartphone are on this new gadget – be in a notch, large screen, fast performance, big battery, et cetra as we about to see it all.
In the box you find, the phone, charger head, a transparent phone case, earphones, micro USB charger, and screen protector.
What we love
There’s everything to love about the Camon 12. From the very first time you get it out of the box, to the entire process you go through when setting it up, you are sure that you have something special in it.
First, it comes with very powerful cameras. You don’t have to be reminded that you are using a Camon series smartphone when you click the shoot button. The camera outputs clear and on-the-point imagery and this is worth the love. A friend of mine had to complain that the selfie camera goes over the board in making his face look so neat.
Then the display. In this age and era, the love for large screens keeps on growing and having the Camon 12 on you will make it even overflow. I love gaming on the mobile and the Camon 12 gives me all the reasons to do this. For those that love watching videos in their best format, you can’t be failed by this new baby.
Have we talked about the battery? You got to like it too! Tecno has really mastered the art of making smartphones that can drive all the way through the next day without getting exhausted. Another thing I loved about the Camon’s battery settings is the ability to keep all your activity going on even when the battery saver is on. The difference? Your battery is in the hands of a good saviour.
A lot more, the performance is on point; the software is built to the very best. I like the fact that the user interface was designed in a really nice animation-like format. The body and build is also to the very best, the space is just right and enough, and – though not the least – the phone gives you all the security you deserve when using it.

What we loathe
I did not like the fact that the selfie camera is only a 16MP. No, I thought Tecno had entered the 20+ MP zone and we could have yet another banger out of this new Camon. Never the less, what is on is good to go with.
Secondly, the software is bloated and I hope the brand can look into having less of these unnecessary apps that come pre-installed. These eat up a lot of the space.
Otherwise, you have the best smartphone about town when you get yourself the Tecno Camon 12.
