Infinix Note 7 unboxing and first impressions

Given that it was announced globally in April, we’ve been anxiously waiting on the Infinix Note 7 to be launched in Uganda. In fact, we were a little concerned about the product’s availability given the coronavirus pandemic. But after patiently waiting, we finally got the handset in our hands.

As interesting as it may be playing with it, we haven’t had the Infinix Note 7 for that long. It’s been just over a day, so we can’t give you a full review of the phone just yet. However, with a number of interesting features here and there, we can give you some impressions to go by.

What’s inside the box?

The Infinix Note 7 is wrapped in an attractive box, in a colour similar to what the Hot 8 and S5 came with. When you unwrap it, you’ll find the phone, charger head, a transparent phone case, earphones, micro USB charger, screen protector, and a few documentation guiding you on how to use the phone.

A completely new Infinix Note design

The very first thing you’ll notice about the Note 7 is that it’s a lot different from anything Infinix has released in the last half decade. Yes, the transition is clearly parallel to the advancement in technology and the constantly changing trends all over the industry.

The Note 7 is a stylish phone with bright colour options and a rather unique camera design. The screen is a pretty huge 6.95-inch display, almost 7-inches, which is not a surprise for a Note device. Is it too tall? That’s hard to tell just yet, but we’ll address that in our full review.

The front-facing camera comes in the form of a punch hole, or is it an in-display? It is close to what we saw with the S5. The rear cams are a round shaped combination of 4 sensors with a Quad-LED flash.

There are some additions worth trying out! The side-mounted fingerprint was something we didn’t look forward to. Infinix beat us right there! The corning Gorilla Glass is another amazing addition, which adds some life to the screen beyond what we are used to.

Overall this new design is an interesting one. It feels like a shift from the same old thing we’ve come to expect from Infinix every time there is a new phone to be released.
