Why ‘destination’ feature was introduced for Taxify Boda, drivers

Bolt Taxify Boda

At the end of August, Taxify started rolling out a feature called Driver Destination to help drivers and Taxify Boda riders to maximize their daily earning potential.

It is so far available in Australia, Estonia, France, Ghana, Kenya, Lithuania, Nigeria, Romania, South Africa, and Uganda, according to officials.

So, how does this feature help Taxify Boda riders and drivers maximize their earning potential?

With the ‘Driver Destination’ feature, the driver or rider can indicate where they are heading as their working day starts or ends.

When he or she does this, the Taxify app will then find and connect them with trips that are along their route.

The feature allows drivers and riders to indicate where they are heading, synchronizes with the Taxify app to find and connect them with trips that are on their way.

Drivers and riders are now able to pick customers heading the same way as them, hence helping drivers save on fuel at a time of increasing fuel prices in most countries.

The feature, however, can only be used two times in a day and be set up within a destination of 100km from the current location.

Also, important to note, every day at midnight, the destination count is reset to its default state

Taxify says unused destinations do not carry over to the next day.

Trips that begin before midnight and continue into the next day only count for the previous day.

Limitations

While this feature puts the rider and driver in more control, it limits the number of orders they receive, as they’ll only receive matched rides going to their chosen destination.
