Jumia Uganda appoints Julian Byamugisha as new Logistics Country Manager

Jumia Uganda has announced Julian Byamugisha as their new Jumia Services Country Manager.

Jumia Services aggregates a network of self-managed and third-party warehousing, order processing, and logistics service providers into one seamless service offering, thereby offering the best services available in each of their markets through a one-stop-shop service interface.

Julian has been with Jumia as Head of Logistics and previously served as Country Manager for Taxify (Bolt) in Uganda. In August last year, we told you of how she had joined the e-commerce site from the ride-hailing outfit. At the moment, she was the regional project manager for Jumia Services – though the profile doesn’t specify the region.

Ron Kawamara, Jumia Uganda CEO, “ I’m pleased Julian will take on this very critical leadership position in our business. She brings strong proficiency in strategy planning, operations management, and business development, and 6 years of e-commerce experience to this role. I’m confident she will further accelerate excellence in Jumia service delivery across Uganda.”

I’m excited for the opportunity to build on the great work done so far at Jumia. What we are geared to is extending the accessibility of our services across the country and delivering happiness. “ Julian Byamugisha added.

She is experienced with the Ugandan startup and tech ecosystem.

Julian had been with Bolt Uganda from December 2017 until June last year. While at the ride-hailing firm, she served in different positions, including Bolt Uganda city manager for Kampala, head of Taxify Uganda market and country manager. Prior to this, she worked with Jumia before and Kaymu, which was later acquired by Jumia Uganda.
