A yet to be identified person had created an account on Facebook using the name of Brig. Leopold Kyanda.
Brig. Kyanda, who is the Chief of Staff of the Land Forces in the Uganda People’s Defence Force, in a Saturday tweet denounced the account. The Facebook account has since been deleted.
Someone has created a Facebook account using my name and photos. This account was not created by me. pic.twitter.com/YT5RBojiIO

Many public figures have been victims of impersonation, especially those whose social media accounts are not verified.
In May of this year, former Security Minister Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde (retd) also took to Twitter to clear the air over multiple accounts that had been opened in his name.
I am aware of the presence of false accounts on various social media platforms impersonating me and I hereby denounce them and confirm to you my people that this is my only social media outpost and it is verified by myself.

The same incident also happened when Okoth Ochola was appointed the inspector general of police. Since the previous account with the username of IGP was taken by his predecessor Gen Kale Kayihura, many people exploited that to open different parody accounts.
Please note that none of the accounts below are the official accounts of the the Inspector General of Police. We will share the details of his account in due course. pic.twitter.com/GWStQqPOLo
